When my husband first talked about he was buying a shock collar for our beloved dog, Storm, I thought he had lost his mind shock collar for dogs. We weren’t abusive pet owners. We loved our 4 legged friends. I believed these collars had been cruel and unusual punishment. His actual phrases to me were “It’s higher than a useless canine”. We lived in a cul-de-sac at the time, that linked to a busy street at the fringe of town. We didn’t need an 8 foot fence nor could we afford an underground fencing unit for our one acre yard.
